We call Smart Rural the initiatives to articulate circular green economies of a local nature that seek to boost competitiveness in the rural world, providing multiple benefits of economic, social, environmental and territorial balance.

The abandonment of rural territories usually entails a loss of food, energy, foreign, landscape resources and cultural identity. We call Smart Rural the initiatives for the articulation of circular green economies of a local nature that aim to boost competitiveness in the rural world, providing multiple economic, social, environmental and territorial balance benefits.

This concept has sustainability and the use of ICT as its driving force, but it is also connected to other areas of knowledge, such as agriculture and livestock; the food; trade and logistics; the generation of jobs; health; education; the risk of fire; water and energy, or biodiversity.

In times of COVID-19, the establishment of symbiotic and intelligent country-city relationships takes on more relevance than ever. This online innovation brunch addressed the trends and innovations in this field, led by expert speakers.
